Our History
City Plating was founded by Weylan Arnold and Joe Renaud in October 2013 after acquiring an existing business, which they strategically redirected to focus on the aviation sector. The company quickly earned a reputation for servicing aircraft of all sizes - from small private jets to large commercial airliners like the Boeing 747. With a team averaging 17 years of experience, City Plating specializes in electroplating parts using precious metals such as gold, chrome, and nickel. Approximately half of their business comes from refurbishment houses, while the other half is from original equipment manufacturers (OEMs). Known for its high standards and fast turnaround times, City Plating has attracted a global client base. In recent years, Arnold expanded operations by acquiring Lou Martin and Associates and Technical Composite Corporation. These strategic acquisitions enabled City Plating to diversify into manufacturing cabin shell kits, window shade systems, and composite panels for aircraft interiors. With over 70 years of combined industry expertise added through these companies, City Plating is positioned for continued growth in the business aviation sector.
Meet the Team
Weylan Arnold - President
Weylan has served as the President of CPMF since acquiring the company in 2013. Before his time at City Plating, he gained experience in the industry at Alamo Plating, a company owned by his father. Weylan takes great pride in his family. He has been married to his beautiful wife, Randa, since 1995. He loves to spend time with his sons and grandchildren. If you can not find Weylan hard at work, you will find him enjoying his day on the lake.
Joe Renaud - Vice-President
Joe has been the Vice President of CPMF since partnering with Weylan in 2013. After working with plating and metal finishings for 45 years, he has become very knowledgeable in the industry. He earned a CEF (certified electroplater finisher) designation in 1981. Joe married his high school sweetheart, Anita, in 1978. Together they have a big family with many grandchildren. When he is not working, he likes to play golf, do home improvement projects, technology and computer-related learning, and daily reading of the scriptures.
Jason Proffitt - HR Administrator
Jason (JP) has served as the Administrative Director of CPMF since 2022. Before joining the CPMF team, he dedicated 25 years to the U.S. Army, holding a variety of leadership roles throughout his military career. JP married his wife, Sky, in 1997. Together, they love to spend quality time with their family. Outside of work, he enjoys tackling home improvement projects.
Kimberly Hernandez - Production Manager
Kimberly (Kim) joined our team in 2017 and has been a force to be reckoned with. With nearly two decades of experience in the aviation industry, her knowledge and expertise shine through day in and day out. She keeps the train on the tracks and heading for success. Outside of work, Kim spends her time relaxing and surrounded by her children and grandchildren.
Ty Arnold - Director of Operations
Ty began working at CPMF in 2014 at just 16 years old. Over the years, he has learned the different trades and roles each position contributes to the company. Ty is ready to step in and help no matter the task. In 2021, he married his high school sweetheart, Alexis. Aside from spending time with his wife and kids, Ty enjoys fishing, watching college football, and cooking some good barbecue.
Alexis Arnold - Marketing Director
Alexis (Lexi) began working at CPMF in 2018 while attending UTSA. She graduated with a BBA in Marketing in 2021. Before taking over the marketing department, she worked in quality control and the administrative office. In 2021, Lexi married her high school sweetheart, Ty. She spends her free time hanging out with her children.
